Cannot figure out why PC keeps turning back on when off

I had similar behavior. It turned-out that having my Android phone plugged-in to my USB hub was the problem. I too had all the wake-on settings 'off' in BIOS, but either static or power from the phone going back through the USB chain was causing a power-on. I'm still not sure the exact...

Computer turns on, nothing on display, can't turn it off with power button

I had an issue similar to this recently - with a different solution. It turned-out that the extra power supply connections to my video card weren't properly attached. I plugged those things in better and everything worked.

First Build, Critique?

I agree with Essence of War especially on case and PSU. I just built a machine using a Corsair 300R case and it was excellent (and often on sale).

What to upgrade for $150?

If you're a gamer, I'd use it to get a nice headset w/mic. And put the rest aside for whatever needs to be upgraded next. I find that even nice headsets wear-out and that having a nice one really improves my gaming experience. I have one of these...

C++ how to ignore comments "//" in line count!

A cursory glance at the internet tells me that g++ regex is still broken as of December 2013. I haven't tried it myself.

Yeah, there are a bunch of ways to solve this problem. And it really depends on the intent of the homework question and tools available. character-level string processing, Boost style trim and matching, C++11 regex module use, or more!

That code isn't going to skip non-empty blank lines either. Suppose your example data has a blank line with spaces or tabs or other whitespace in it!
