Question If you have bought a CPU in the last 3 years or so (since Ryzen came out) What was it ?

R5 2600X, replaced Xeon X5675 Laptop with i7 8750H, replaced old laptop with i7 2620m Waiting for zen 3 Ryzen with 8 cores to replace 2600X.

Speculation: Ryzen 4000 series/Zen 3

Zen 3 is 7nm (N7P), 8 cores per CCX, higher cache per core, faster IF, better IMC, better IPC, a bit higher frequency. Thats what is known about Zen 3. Saying Zen 3 is 5nm is contradicting what AMD himself already said about Zen 3, so only someone who ignores what AMD said spreads fake rumours...

AMD focus is high margins markets. And that's server/Epyc market first. We only get Ryzen almost sooner because bad yields of Epyc chiplets can be good Ryzen chiplets. Mobile requires chiplets with very good yields for lower power consumption, and those in first months of production will go to...

Question For gaming only, would a 9900k be notably better than a 3900x?

Upgrade gpu first. And wait until ryzen 4000 for cpu upgrade.

There's no benefits and (good) impacts when we're talking about a 14~15 years regression in technology. I do some rendering in my Ryzen 2600X. Rendering is heavy multithread workload. Ryzen 2600X is way faster than Xeon X5675 (also 6 cores) I had before. Xeon X5675 already was a lot faster...

Zhaoxin's ZX-F/KX-7000/KH-40000 and beyond

It doesnt have i7 920 in database but comparing with i7 2600k shows that my good old i7 920 also performed better than a KX-6780A. i7 920 is a 45nm 4 cores/8 threads cpu from 2008. It's a 12 years old cpu.

Question AMD preps Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, Ryzen 5 3600XT for June 16 ....TweakTown

Wait to see 3600XT performance and price. Then choose what fits better in performance/price. 3600 will be cheaper, so if you wait at least you'll save money. And buy ddr4 3600 kit. There are cheap kits (3600cl16) and worth the price. Ddr4 2400 will be a big bottleneck for any Ryzen 3000.

Question Rome Launch 7 August , what about TR?

The "issue" is selling more than expected. AMD said Ryzen 3000 are selling over 3 times faster than previous Ryzen releases. Also best Zen 2 CCX's are going to HPC and data center for clients such as Amazon and Google. What Lisa Su said is about the time it takes to get higher production...

Not reaching max boost with Ryzen 5 2600X

Did you try to undervolting using offset? If your motherboard have this option its what you should use with an 2600X. Good thing about 2600X versus 2600 is you really don't need to do OC, just lower voltage thru offset. Search and watch YouTube about it. Learn before trying, it's easy but you...

Review 6700k vs 3700x in 23games

And both are Skylake IPC too. So both are only a couple Hundred MHz faster and 10-12 cores at best.

Better grab a chair and sit while waiting. 10nm only for mobile and server cpu's. Really new Intel desktop cpu only with 7nm and that will be in 2022. 7nm production will start in 2021 but only for new gpu's and server cpu's. Meanwhile AMD will have Zen3/Ryzen4000 in 2020 @ 7nm+ and Zen...

Xeon L5639 Overclocking on X58
