thanks for the suggestions, i think i might try the bestcrypt package after i backup all of my data! i'll let you know how it goes: i may also try the built-in / loop-aes approach.

Linux (MDK 10.0) Encryption Recommendations Please

Ok, my basics: - Running Mandrake 10.0 Official - kernel 2.6.3-7mdk-i686-up-4GB I recently moved from Windows XP - > Fedora 2 -> Mandrake 10.0. Fedora Core 2 was unstable for me using nautilus and had a bunch of other issues i didn't care for.... including the 4K stack...

Laptop Questions - IBM, Dell

IBM all the way! they have great security features built in, which wll no doubt be needed as a college student. I just got myself a used thinkpad , an r31 to be exact for collaborative work, and its a great machine! 1.13ghz p3 384mb pc133 30gb hdd cd-r/w 14.1" wifi xp pro All for $670 off...

Are you sff people nuts? This SB61G2 sounds like a hairdryer!

I have a SB61G2, and it isn't loud at all! If the fan guardian is kicking up the rpm's of the ice fan, you probably are either overloading your case with parts or have somehow caused your processor to overheat. The shuttle is not intended to run 2x120gb 7200rpm drives (like i'm doing;)), an Ati...

I hate ingrown toe nails...

i used to get them like every 6 months for a couple years...i had the phenol thing done and it doesn't hurt or look deformed...maybe your's was performed sloppily or incorrectly...and my nail is growing back the way it should. there's also the option to get it electro-shocked now, but that seems...

S***! Fastlane is cancelled! Along with about 30 other shows...

its sad that's tv's turning into a reality frenzy. who the hell watches all this sh#t!?!?! I know I don't watch mr. personality, all nbc's ripoff shows, and the other pathetic attempts at mass marketing. I miss family guy, futurama, and other genuine shows that had a PLOT and good storyline...

New IBM Thinkpad R31 Funky Noises

i'm glad to hear this is the case. However, i want to reiterate that this noise is unlike the normal operating noise of the drive, it sounds very different.... that's why i was wondering if everything was ok.
