Well, I've tried the following with my P4B533-E: - Set FSB to 133, ratio to 1:1 and memory to 2.5-3-3-7 (slowest possible) - Set AGP/PCI clock to AUTO - Shut down system and switch dip6 on - Power back on Posts fine. Going to BIOS to see that all values are OK - they are. Windows XP crahses...

Mikki, I have no problem with POST when I'm using 3:4 or 1:1 ratio but Windows XP crashes immediately to blue screen using 3:4 ratio complaning (randomly) about ACPI.SYS or something else... I have tried 133/136/140/144/148 FSB speeds with 3:4 ratio and the system always posts but does not load...

Nanomem, thank you for your suggestions. I have only flipped the dip number 6 and left everything else alone (being in the jumper-free mode). I have not tried the jumpered mode/flipping the other switches/older BIOS revisions, but might give them a try when I get to work with the mobo again...

Thans for the info guys! :) I'm replying to the thread pointed by Thugsrook after I understand what exactly is going on and how it relates to my situation... (Nanomem: my dip switches from 1 to 5 are all off).

Poor memory performance with P4B533-E

Well, it seems I'm not alone with memory problems. Hopefully this is fixable by BIOS update and is not hardware related. There's a 1007.12 beta BIOS at ftp.asuscom.de but I don't feel too comfortable flashing to beta...

Whats the best mouse for FPS games?

Excellent experiences with Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (with wire). Accurate, zero lag, comfortable in hand, easily accessible buttons and slick wheel. I can fully recommend it. :cool:

What is the diff with the 2 asus a7v133 boards?

A7V133 has four IDE channels (with integrated Promise RAID chip). A7V133-C has only two IDE channels.
