Would you buy a Steamroller/Excavator based AMD FX CPU if it existed today?

Honestly, if AMD did make a quad module Steamroller or Excavator (obviously more Excavator than SR) FX chip, made it on an FM2+ board, with DDR4 support, with it reaching clock ranges from 4-5GHz, I feel that it would be plenty for just about anything, gaming included and if 15% more efficient...

Would you buy a Steamroller/Excavator based AMD FX CPU if it existed today?

Just curious as to just who, out there, would actually purchase an AMD CPU if they were to create an 8-core (quad module) FX series based on the Steamroller or Excavator architectures. I'm still running a Phenom II 955BE@4.0, and am in the market to upgrade and most likely going with a 4970K...

Vishera FX8350 - Overclock record

AMD to transition to 28nm bulk in 2013 (digitimes)

Man, this tread is 100% tl, but I did r, most of it at least. Anyway, if you haven't seen the article yet, it seems that AMD may actually end up sticking with AM3+ for Steamroller. AMD sticks with stocket AM3+ As far as DDR4 is concerned...it may never see the light of day with what Rambus...

I think AMD's future is still up in the air. I do wish that AMD skipped this "tick" and went strait to Steamroller cores instead. 10-15% improvement when you're already 30% behind the competition isn't going to net great reviews, but it is indeed progress, which I suppose provides a glimpse of...

How well does BD respond to CPU-NB OC'ing?

Just as the title sounds, I'm wondering if Bulldozer architecture responds to CPU-NB overclocking the same way Phenom II does. It will determine whether or not I buy a new motherboard as mine cannot seem to handle anything over 2200MHz. I know that Thuban responded better to CPU-NB...

I see that it was already posted, but yeah, seems like October 23rd is the release date. On top of that, I didn't see this picture before, but you can see in the background that the FX8350 can score above 9.0pts in Cinebench, which is roughly what a 2600K would score at ~4.6GHz. Not great, but...

Intel Increases Overclocking Potential in Haswell Processors

It did offer native PCIe3.0, ability to use love voltage DDR3, HD4000 instead of 3000, and some added security features, but otherwise I agree...nothing that would really stand out or be of much use to most of us at least at this point in time.

AMD marketing Steamroller before Vishera launch. Thoughts?

Steamroler will also use a dense library, but honestly, I don't mind lower frequencies if it means much better performance. Since we're already seeing Vish hitting 5GHz stable on H20, I wouldn't care about Steamroller only hitting 4.6-4.8 if it was 30% faster.

Moral Dilemma (Received Intel 3930k by mistake)
