So, I am building the new system and it won't boot, apparently. Here are the specs:
Intel D925XCV mobo
Antec True Power 550W
Apacer 1GB DDRII PC4300 (x4)
ATI Radeon X800 256MB PCI-E.
etc.
The system apparently won't boot, but I am not getting any beeps. So all I know for sure is...
Well...
The other tech built the system on a counter, which is what I am doing right now.
I am going to use the other power supply, no drives and two DIMMs, first.
I don't have any other CPUs with this pinless system.
And what is the DEAL with that heat sink! Plastic push-through...
Okay, after having this same problem with the Asus A8V a few months ago and throwing the board out because we couldn't get it to work and Asus and the vendor were no help (anyone want to buy a 3800+ cheap?) I am now having the same problems with this board, and am beginning to think I am cursed...
Check the other posts on this mobo.
Initially I was told it was a hard drive problem, and after replacing the hard drive, the system worked long enough for me to build it. Then I connected a case fan and it won't boot anymore.
I have had nothing but problems with mine and ended up throwing...
uh, nope.
USB is a Serial device, and therefore passes it's data one bit at a time in a stream.
A Parallel port is a parallel communication device, and therefore passes it's data in a strip of 8-bits/9-bits at a time.
In order to convert the serial (USB) data to a Parallel port, you...
I can tell you, working in the IT business world, that most companies and government agencies will continue to buy Intel CPUs and mobos from Dell.
If you buy AMD and something goes wrong, even today, your peers will question your business sense and IT knowledge. If you buy Intel and something...
Yeah, that sounds like the PSU.
I only use Antecs. TruePower usually around 480W. I am looking at the NeoPowers, but I don't think I need the ability to adjust voltage.
If you can afford it, and need the added access speed (neglible for most users) then do RAID 1+0 (RAID 10).
I have used 4 - 250GB SATA (8MB) drives on an Abit board, and it worked fine. I did have a single instance of the hard drives not responding, but that was fixed with the RAID utility at...
Thanks again everyone for your efforts in helping me resolve this issue.
The fact remains, however, that this board is unsuitable for a business environement. I don't have the time to troubleshoot every board we get in here. It just costs too much to do this.
A poster mentioned that Intel...
Thanks everyone for your input on this continuing problem. I gave this to another tech and he came up with a similar solution:
AFTER the motherboard had gone back to Asus, and was repaired and redelivered and didn't work!!!
Reset CMOS, Boot to the BIOS utility and reboot without flashing...
