DirectX 11 best-bang-for-buck upgrade?

Is that the same as the 7790 Radeon? I was looking between the 7790 and the 7850...I'd like to stay within $100 used so the 7850 may be outside of reach?

DirectX 11 best-bang-for-buck upgrade?

I have an old Radeon 4850 video card; I'd like to upgrade to a single slot DirectX 11-compatible video card ... What would give me a best-bang-for buck? Thank you.

Help!! Which case do I have?

Dumb question -- 32 vs 64 bit Windows

Say I have a 32-bit application which runs (is compatible with) a 64-bit version of Windows (Vista or 7). Can this 32-bit application use more than 4 Gb of RAM (which was the 32-bit limitation of the 32-bit OS)? Thanks!

Perc 5i vs Perc 6i, etc

Hi, I am very confused on the Perc 5i, 6i controllers... I'm looking for a somewhat affordable SAS controller solution and the Perc controllers are on eBay but vary wildly with pricing. Some places I see the 5i advertised as NON-RAID, other places I see they are all RAID. On Dell's website...

How to get 4 GHz stable multi-core?

Ok, but the software that you use has to be modified to take advantage of the GPU, correct? Using commercial software may not have that advantage as they are not necessarily designed for GPU computation... Or am I not understanding this right? Thanks!

Windows XP password recovery w/o boot from drive?

Hi, is it possible to get the password to a Windows XP system without using a boot CD such as orphcrack? I can't boot to the drive of this computer and need to do it from within Windows (if possible as a user who does NOT have admin access). Any thoughts? Thank you!

I opened up the side of the case and now the temperatures are as follows: Temp1: 39C Temp2: 62C Temp3: 67C HD0: 35C Core: 51C So it definitely has something to do with case cooling -- what do you guys think? The ambient room temperature is around 70C...

System temperatures too high?

Hi, for my system I am using SpeedFan 4.38 to see the speeds of the fans and the temperatures and I have a few concerns. I think the CPU speed is 45C but it goes as high as 50C. The Temp2 value is 64C and the Temp3 (I think Temp3 is the chipset) is 68C. Also the Core is listed as 59C...
