Is 32GB of RAM overkill?

It really depends on your usage. One of my machines has 16GB and it's great. One of my other machines has only 8GB and I been getting "low memory" issues. My next build has 32GB (ECC too)...but that's 'cuz ZFS loves memory

Sandy Bridge Pre/Post Power consumption

ditto here.....I don't even have that tab (nor have NT APM Legacy in my device manager). Hell, if I force it and add the APM Legacy device, it still doesn't work (it says it can't active it.) To add to the mystery, it use to shutdown fine before. And even more confusing is that it'll...

DELL 200GIG HD update

not only that.....XP/2k has one minor issue with drives bigger than 137GB....connected to the mobo's IDE controller. By default, XP will not use 48bit LBA addressing and will only recognize the first 128GB or so (this is regardless of the filesystem; fat32, NTFS, etc.). You can enable it from...

NOT SO HOT: PayPal Preferred status now being "enforced"??

yeah...f*ck paypal...I stopped using them ever since they introduced that sh*tty $100 receiving limit. I use Yahoo's PayDirect and c2it (although c2it did try to f*ck me over).

hmmm....not bad of a price for it....but I'd rather get it at Monarch....they provide oem cpus with 3 yr warranty (it blew me away the first time I saw it). man....I hate being broke.
