It may be hard to get more than $750 since I have seen many retailers have them instock lately. I know nVIDIA is really pushing to get all the $750 backorders filled before they release their next card.
X1900XT is not always the answer. I have a Gigabyte GA-2CEWH board. I use ATI cards in some of my other computers. Until Crossfire works in something more than their very limited selection of motherboards, nVIDIA's SLI is my only choice.
LOL @ you morons who are so bored with yourselves that you read threads for the sole purpose of crapping on other peoples' interests. Please save your sound and video card money and buy yourself a life.
I put a PVR-250 and 2 PVR-150's in one with BeyondTV. I had so many problems that were very hard to pinpoint. We tried everything from reinstalling different OS's to using a house fan to blow in the open case. It stayed very buggy...artifacts, no color, no sound, cutoff shows, random resets...
A $250 vid card won't do nuthin for me. World of Warcraft at 1900x1200 on my Dell 24" with a 6800 Ultra bogs down to a slideshow with all details turned on. $599 is nothing to pay for something I use so much...but $1200 is alot for SLI and another $500 for a new SLI motherboard is hard to take.
Well is this that version you don't like or not? The description says it has everything you say it doesn't (ie., good formatting and useful commentary). To be helpful, please consider being more definitive with your comments and maybe offer an alternative title.
Good race, Jeff and Kb. It was difficult to hold up production there at the end with the wife complaining about the heat. That snow over the weekend helped lots! :)
Thanks for the stats NtG.
It's a huge monitor, super bright, no ghosting on DVDs or games (World of Warcraft or HL2), no backlight problems, no pixel problems. Only downside is 1900 x 1200 native res is alotta pixels. My video card is still cursing me. I traded up from a 21" CRT and this thing still feels huge...
I started with Netflix and switched to Blockbuster. I just switched back. With 155 movies in my queue (everything from new releases to older movies), Blockbuster usually only has about 10 available. It's not acceptable and just doesn't make sense from such a large organization. Netflix would...
Jeff, it's just me and you. Kb got tangled up with Uppsala and has slowed considerably. I can't keep my production up because the wife is already complaining about the heat (she actually goes North for the winter). By Monday, I will have to turn off 3 of the 5 computers. :(
Just a heads up...remember the Microsoft patch that was pushed out today. It reset all of my XP machines. Since I only run F@H as a service on 1 machine, all the others were sitting around all day with nothing to do except warm up the house. So, make sure to check your machines!
Welcome...
**WARNING: The following post contains spoilers for the 60K race...hehehehe**
I have an Opteron 250 running FAH. It has 1GB of 3-3-3-8 memory per processor. It just finished this: Protein: p1130_L939_K12M_355K. Is that a new one?
I also have an FX55 with faster 2-2-2-2 memory that I...
Go ahead and add me to the 60k dare. I can't let Jeff and KB have all the fun. I will have to pull my laptop off for next week for jury duty, but there should be enough time to catch up.
You can add me to Jeff's 60k dare. I had to take my lappy outta crunching for this week and next so I have something to do during jury duty. But there should still be plenty of time to catch up.
