IMO anyone advocating mandatory national service except in time of overwhelming national emergency needs to be clubbed like a baby seal. Chuck Rangel hardly want's to support our What a clown.

Us ditto, plus mandatory urine tests for all who worked on the jet. My post was sarcastic, but certainly typical of what goes through a maintainers mind when they hear about it. Glad I wasn't on that load crew even if the ejector rack failed on its own. <looks for "sweating" emoticon>

We have quite a few immigrants in the Air Force (it's a fast track to citizenship) and they generally do well because they are motivated, self-disciplined, have seen what the REST of the world looks like, and want to live all that American Dream stuff that many of my sluglike fellow-citizens...

Banning until further research is complete is merely inconvenient, as opposed to exposing those who get transfusions to possible danger while studies are done. When we returned from Desert Storm most military members were banned from giving blood for a couple of years. No problems were found and...

Incident/Crash reaction checklist: Was anybody hurt? Did I work on the aircraft or component? Did I inspect the area after someone else performed maintenance? Did one or more of my troops work on or inspect the area? No=sigh of relief.
