Phenom II X4 965 BE temps & OC'ing question

Thanks everyone. You've eased my doubts about my setup. I'll try to OC it when I get off work. Just doesn't seem like 10-11c headroom for OC'ing isn't a lot. Edit: I live in Southern California so it's already 80+ degrees here. The AC is set at 80 so the room temp won't go over that.

The load temps were taken after 20 minutes or so of Prime 95.

Phenom II X4 965 BE temps & OC'ing question

Hello again AT forums. I finished my first AMD build since 2006 and just had a question about the temps of the 965 BE. I have an i3-2100 HTPC that idles around 32c (40c load, stock HSF) and was just wondering if the 965's are supposed to be this warm? Seeing as how the max temp of the 965 is...

Phenom II X4 965 BE & Hyper 212, does fan orientation matter?

I just built a Phenom II x4 965 BE with a Hyper 212 Plus. I still think my temps are high and I ordered more case fans. My question is does the fan orientation matter on the 212? I have the stock fan (don't know exactly what model it is, blademaster maybe?) in push and a Rosewill 2000rpm 74cfm...

GTX 650 Ti "throttling" in tests @ <60c

Yeah. Considering that here on AT they reviewed 4 650 Ti's and they all hit 1175 core (+250) and 1650 mem (+300) including the reference. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6359/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-review/20 I noticed that Precision X reports the GPU throttling but GPUZ does not.

"Power Limit" is non accessible in Precision X too, oh well, that sucks. Precision X is also reporting the throttling reducing my core clock. Really starting to regret this purchase.

Thanks Notty, I'm downloading Unigine Heaven now. Two more questions: Is there a better program to use for Nvidia cards than Afterburner? The "Power Limit" is locked (grayed out). Is there anyway to unlock it? Did I miss a setting?

I switched camps to the green team and got a GTX 650 Ti. The card is slightly factory OC'ed (966 Core, +41) at stock voltage. I decided to sit down and see what this could do. I downloaded MSI Afterburner, Kombustor and Furmark. I added the EULA for Afterburner and started bumping the core...

When did RAM prices start going up?

4 months ago I bought a G.Skill 2x4gb 1600 kit for $28.99. Just built a budget AMD rig and payed $29.99 for a 2x2gb 1333 kit. Ridiculous.

Win 7, anyone still use "Readyboost"?

New build installation order

Favorite overclocking programs and utilities?

My components should be delivered tonight. So hopefully I'll get some decent overclocking in tonight or tomorrow. I'm looking to wring every frame out of that 965 BE and 650 Ti. I know it's not a great build but it should be a decent mid range system.
