The question: How can I access the printer connected to my desktop on the "Home" workgroup using my VPN'd laptop?

My laptop and desktop are connected to my home LAN (I work from home).
The shared printer is connected to the desktop
My laptop uses a VPN to access my work files...
I have an Nvidia GeForce card that has no model number anywhere on the card! And since I don't have an AGP system to test it on, I'm kinda stuck. The only markings on the card that might be of some help are:
600-10201-0007-210 AA
0061105001849
BIOS Version 5.40.02.15.01
4BN20100070609AA...
I've installed the latest Catalyst drivers and Hydravision and selected the setting that should make this work.
Most programs don't span my monitors, but some apps (IE, calculator) still don't stay to a single monitor (i.e. the window spans across my monitors).
Any ideas to fix this?
