Well I know with the Nforce2 chipset, the Thoroughbred B cores are unlocked, but it really depends on your Mobo. Why don't you just try it? Change the Multiplier, and reboot, if it reads another speed, and you confirm with WCPUID then its unlocked.
I have to agree on that point ;)
I have found a place in Ottawa though that has the CPU too, I just bought one, and will let you know when its installed how Far I can push it. Found mine at www.sprintcomputers.com It was 145 CDN for the OEM Cpu. Also www.oxycom.com is expecting a shipment in...

I ordered some Ram from www.Ramstore.ca yesterday for the system I am Building, and they throw in free thermal Paste with every order, it should be in early next week, So I'll just wait for it to arrive, and try that.
Or If I find I can't wait I'll stop by a computer shop later today and give...
Hey Guys,
Well I have not really Put any Heat Sinks on CPU's before...And I just got an AMD 500 K6-2 off Ebay for an Old system I have, which will be used as a server soon. But It Came with no Heat sink, So I found one at a local shop and popped it in last night, but when it gets fully booted...
OK well now I have another question :D which of these 2 would you get?
ATI Radeon 8500 128MB Video Card w/TV-OUT, OEM 150.00
ATI Radeon 8500LE 64MB Video Card, Retail 145.00
I looked through some reviews and the 8500 seems to outperform the 8500LE, and It would have...
You are only looking at OEM cards, and I was listing prices for Retail cards. The Site lists the Retail Cards for pretty much what I have listed.
Still unsure. I think personally Image Quality rates higher for me than speed, and If a 8500 is as fast as the 9000, then I guess I can save some...
is the Difference in Clarity that huge??
I just seen a 8500LE 64mb card for 145..thats a pretty big savings.
If the difference in Clarity is that huge, then I may go for the 8500...simply because I am not a Huge gamer, but that could be because of my 8mb onbard video currently LOL...but I do...
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I am just looking for a little advice, or suggestions before I make my purchase, which will be later this week.
I'm looking at either the
Msi Geforce4 Ti 4200 64mb 8x Agp W tv out $229 CND
or
Ati 9000 Pro 128 Mb $223 CND
I know that the 4200...
Curious to see if you get any better bench marks with that high of a FSB, since your memory would still be a bottleneck. You should run some benchs with a 1:1 ratio, and then again with the FSB overclocked that high for a comparison. Would be interesting anyways.
well I don't know about finding the other CPU, but if your still having the problem, instead of installing the OS on another system, why not just copy the .cab files over. then run the install from the HD.
The system always reads the hosts file first and then queries DNS so you should not have to restart anything to get it to read a newly updated hosts file. If it was stored in the kernel then you would need to restart, or have it reread the file. But as you seen, it reads it from that location...
Another Canuck here too, been looking for a XP 2100 Tbred B for awhile, can't seem to find one, and Newegg won't ship to canada :( I found 2 sites that have them listed, but not instock.
Yah I was thinking of that as an option...but I don't exactly like the thought of having someone I don't know ship it to me. If I knew someone in the states I would be all over it though.
