Good newbie advice Zaap. Sometimes we, who have been at this hobby for awhile, tend to forget that those just starting are not familiar with the basics of Hackintoshing. They may be able to get a system up and running, but to keep it updated, and test system updates, does require planning.

Nice, I know what you mean about old stuff. Most of mine that I give away I put Windows 7 on them. A lot of people say they want to try OS X, but when push comes to shove, they opt for Windows.

I got them working, silly me, I put them in the same iWork folder as my old ones that is what messed everything up. I re-downloaded into the app folder and they work just fine. Have not really tried them out yet, but at least I still have my old versions if they are not an improvement.

I supplied the address I originally used, but as I said, I gave up after 2-3 hours of the gear turning on the website trying to send the email. BTW, these items were purchased directly from Apple, this was long before the App store existed. I just assume the address I used at that time is one...

Yes, I explained that if you read all my post. For the record, I did as I said and on the Mac mini, I was allowed to download the updates. To be fair, I'm not sure if it was a case of they just got around to making them free as they said they would or b/c I was using an actual Mac to download...
