I am considering an upgrade from 2000 to 2003. So I ran both on my V-machine before changing. I threw in my toughest spreadsheet to torture test and did a sort on data feeding a pageful of sumif's. Result on the first round was 2000 29 seconds, 2003 1 minute 30 seconds. I didn't believe so I did...

Printing a large list in Excel side by side

A lttle simpler a little less effort. Cut and paste your column into Word. Select from the menu Format|Columns|Two. Print. All done.

MS Excel save changes problem - asks me almost everytime

It's not a bug. You have a setting, formula or link that causes excel to think you made a change. Try Tools|Options|Calculation uncheck Update remote references and Save external link values (just for testing, don't keep it this way if you link sheets). Also test by closing sheets, set recalc...

How to type information in a .pdf file

Can only open a network file in Excel as read only

Old question but here is your answer if you need it. Some office apps hang when you close them. They disappear from the screen but are still running in the background. When they do this, they don't release thier reservation on the file. Close excel on your machine and go to Task Manager. If the...
