Best antivirus program?

Norton Antivirus. Not that stupid Norton Utilities pos, but just plain antivirus. Especially if you're smart and run liveupdate every so often :P

Poll: Have you ever fried anything in your computer with static?

I've never fried anything w/ static, but static does fry computers. at work, this dumbass found a stick of RAM that was in a box, under a pile of boxes, and fried the computer.

Wallpaper - Resource hog?

Webshots is another good program. Just turn off any sort of webupdate thing they have. It'll take any picture you throw at it, convert it to a bmp and voila.

Computer gets online by its self!!! Why?

its almost always b/c of some program you have running.. like chat clients, updating software. There's always the simplest solution of them all.... unplug the phone cord, or turn off the computer : )

trying to choose a vdo card

for anyone interested, I'm going with the ATI Radeon VE AGP 32MB. Dual monitor support, and s-vdo and composite out. I found it for $100. And I'm getting myself a Sony 12x DVD ROM that I found for $100 as well. :)

Need a hard drive, what to buy?

Maxtor. I haven't had any probs with the 2 20 gig Maxtor drives I currently own. Once one of them fried during a series of power surges, and all I had to do was call up Maxtor, and 2 days later I had a replacement drive. all I had to do was ship back the old one in the same box, postage paid...

Sometimes, If you just ask nicely, you get it.

hmm.. being mean doesn't work. I work with DSL sign up and stuff. And as soon as someone gets mean or angry, that's it, I stop trying to help. I'll yank your chain for awhile, run you in circles, but your prob won't get fixed. But if you're nice to me, I don't care if I spend my entire shift...
