X-Plane 10 and i7-4790k performance

Civilization V: Gods and Kings

They are better, but it still takes a long time for me (~1 minute on Emperor, marathon, largest possible fractal map, max city states (40+ I think, max civilizations, ~22 or so, but most have been wiped out, so 4-5 left). I guess if you add up 1 minute for 600 turns you wait quite a long time...

The nvidia glasses don't work at 60HZ. But any other shutterglasses work at 60HZ on a crt. No 60 HZ lcd will work. Of course 60HZ will drive you insane. If you have a crt the drivers work fine for 85+ HZ, including dlp projectors @85HZ that can do stereo.

New Geforce 9800GTX+ stuck at PCI-Express 1x :(

I had a gigabyte 965p-ds3 rev 3 motherboard and it did exactly the same. Used a 7900 gtx, no problems. Changed to a 8800 gtx, it would go to 1X after 2-3 minutes. The same with a gtx 280. I could never figure out what the problem was and replaced it with something else. No more problems.

Worried about getting a new GTX 280

I had problems with a bgf 280 oc i got for 330 after the rebate if i ever get it and about $55 live cashback. Anyway, it was going up to 113 celsius and crashing the computer everytime i started anything 3d. I would just be in a menu and it would heat up like that, didn't get to start anything...
