<< If NVIDIA doesn't start getting better yields soon, the GeForce3 probably won't be heading south of $300 anytime soon. >>
I think the price probably has more to do with making a big profit on their newest premium product than it does with yields.
The previous Altima was a rental car wonder and this one looks to be one too. I cant stand Nissans myself, my folks have a top of the line Pathfinder and its fairly junky, slightly better than a V6 Explorer but not by much, and definitely not in the same class as the Toyota 4Runner.
Nissan=...
Well they sent you the wrong vid card, mistakes happen, call up customer service and calmly explain the situation, and they should take care of it. If they dont then get angry.
Actually the Radeon is very impressive, it has 2 pipelines x 3 texture units each compared to the GTS which has 4 pipelines x 2 texture units each. So the Radeon is obviously a more efficent design than the GTS since it scores so close (64mb Radeon actually outscores 32mb GTS).

I can vouch for the Radeon's image quality too, I held onto my V3...
Heres the best method I found
1.)Insert a razorblade between the heatsink and chip until you get to where the epoxy is, carefully use a sawing motion to remove some of the epoxy to make a nice space to put the screwdriver in.
2.)Use the smallest flathead screwdriver you have (one of those...
The new ones look too plasticky, a Toyota Camry has better outward fit and finish IMO. Now the older ones, say '92 on which had the newer rear end, those look taught and stylish. The newer ones look like crap in comparison.
