Messenger 5.0 confusion

So anyone installing MSN messenger 5.0 on XP will have multiple copes running, I presme you then have to mess around trying to remove the original messenger.

I would advise people not to install the latest messenger update on XP, ive seen it on 3 machines so far and they're all the same. It causes norton to hang on shutdown and also messes with the 'bits' service, which was a problem with the original messenger and was fixed in the second update but...

Automated backup to CD-RW?

Xbox vs. Geforce 4 ti4600's graphics capabilities

I think for the most part it is the intro to the game but still is rendered in real-time. There are what seems like ingame shots for the last 10 seconds or so of the video.

<< The clip looks great and what not, but for all I all know it could have been fully pre-rendered (it seemed like a cut scene) >> It is all real-time (apparently) you even see the in-game HUD at several points in the video.

Just thought I'd point out that a Geforce 4 ti4600 alone has a grand total throughput of 0 Polygons per second. These figures people are throwing around are they maximum theoretical for the card or is this as part of a system? If I had to put my money on one, I would say the Xbox could produce...

Polygon throughput - Accurate?

Looking through various tech articles on the net I noticed there seems to be massive variation in the polygon throughput figures for hardware accelerators and the modern consoles. Firstlty there seems to be no mention of textures/lighting used to derive said figure, surely this would affect the...

Stuck Start Menu on New WinXP Install

.NET sdk - This may sound like a daft question

Can I install it on another machine then copy across the tools (compiler etc.) and the api (like J2SE) to my main machine and just shove it all in a single folder? I want to be able to compile/run apps without the bulk of the sdk. I have a feeling the entire sdk will screw up my very stable...
