5700 Ultra or 9600XT?

5700 Ultra or 9600XT?

I actually don't have a system yet, as I'm in the process of building it. I am going to get an AMD Athlon64 3000+ cpu (haven't selected the motherboard yet), with probably 512MB ram, and a 120GB Seagate IDE with 8MB cache disk drive. Should the 5900XT run well on this system? Thanks much!

Looking for a good video card for about $150. I don't intend to overclock. I'm a gamer, but it's not my purpose in life (no offense). I'd like a good card that will run most of today's games well, but I don't have to be on the cutting edge. Are either of these cards decent, and if so, which...

Win2K or WinXP for gaming?

I'm building a new system, and have a valid license for Windows 2000 Pro. Is this OS sufficient for running most of today's games, or are most games today being written to run on WinXP only? What would I lose should I decide to stick with Win2K?
