DFI Ultra-D Chipset temperature

CPU - according to SmartGuardian(It is on the floor in a basement) Idle 28-29 Load 39-41 I simply used the Stock HSF and thermal pad.

Some info from a DFI rep pretty much the answer right here. 6600GT SLI cards do not have their own power and therefore get the power from the 4-pin molex on the board. 6800GT's and above have their own 12v power requirements that come direct from the psu. ATI cards are the same...

You are correct, no 6 pin on the board. Just be sure to plug in the 24 pin, the 4 pin, the 4 ping molex, and the 4 pin floppy type power connector and all will be fine :D I do not have the answer to how the PCIe gets its power.

Should I wait for the 7 series

If I had a 6600 card, and it dod not do what I wanted, the card I would currently get would be the ATI x800XL. That should be able to hold you over until the next gen cards come out, and prices fall to a decent level. :) Just my 2 cents.

It is not listed on their site, and no word of it at dfi-street.com, s939/AGP does not appear to be made yet by DFI.

OT: Loud pop sound from computer.

GLeeM, any word on your problem? I am curious because Sunday my PC made a loud pop, and shut itself off. I took a look inside, no signs of a bad cap on mobo or video card. I could not smell anything from the PSU or case. I turned it back on, and have played hours of CS:S and prime95...

Camcorder that takes digital pictures?

Buy seperately for sure. The quality of the cheapest digicam will be of better quality than anything a camcorder's built in still cam can do.

Loud pop, PC shut down.

6600GT vs X800XL

Went with a $230CAN Gigabyte 6600GT with my new PC. Could not wait forever for the x800xl here in Canada. When I did see one it was $499!! Not paying twice the cash for that card. lad to se you guys are happy with the x800xl, I would be too if I could get it for around $360CAN. BTW, the...

To Socket 939 or not to....

You are correct, you do not really need a 939 setup. ( I do not think you need a new mobo either(but that is not my choice, hehe)) So, if you really want a good mobo for OC, and stick with the other parts you have, there is one good answer, and that is the DFI Lanparty UT nf3.

Help me decide on an A64 setup!!

Worst case scenario with the system you are planning on is having to buy a better PSU for the Ultra D :) It cannot hurt to try it, but there have been some who have had problems which turned out to be caused by a weak PSU. Be sure to plug all 4 power connectors to the DFI board for stability.

To Socket 939 or not to....

ionoxx, Is your PC slow at anything you currently do? Games not performig the way you want? If that is the case, go with a new video card, x800xl or 6800GT. I would not waste my $$$ on upgrading the CPU/mobo you currently have simply because you cannot OC it. That thing should run great...

Wat is your V. Card's Temp ?

Gigabyte 6600GT IDLE 50-51 Load I have seen it go as high as 70 looping 3dMark2001SE, about 66-68 highest i have seen playing CS:S. Everything stock on it.
