overclocking the ti4200

hey, all. i have a leadtek ti4200 (128mb) and i would like to see what i can do with overclocking it. its running on an Epox 8kha+, xp 1600 and 256mb Corsair pc2400. Nothing on the system is overclocked, yet. where do i start? i can overclock my system in bios easy, but how do i do it with...

need suggestions for a gaming modem

yeah, i didnt think it made a huge difference. ill probably just get an lt winmodem for compatibility sakes if it doesnt matter. plus i bet theyre pretty cheap. that should hold me over till i can convince dad to get dsl :)

do 56k modems really differ that much in speed and throughput or whatever? i know they can be resource hogs and i should look out for that, but i was curious, what really makes a good modem good? but im looking for one in the $30-55 range but if i like it or if things dont matter, i could go...

Gainward creates 128MB GF3...will the others follow (no doubt about it)!

my apologies to adul. i didnt even check on you before making the oem comment. but its been a while since ive heard any one say 128mb of ram is enough for me, heh. especially around here, ya know? so, you just build money-efficient, i guess. personally, i want at least 512 :)

epox 8kha+ problem: 7f post code everytime

well, i dont know what the error was before, but i barrowed a pci video card instead of the agp one i was using and now i got post and was able to read the error messages. one, yeah was the floppy error, but that was "6F" and then it CHANGED to "7F" after a second or two because there was...

pc2400 ram in a pc2100 mobo??

hey, thanks for the reassurance. i was pretty sure, just wanted to double check. and yeah, i got the whole thing built and it took to the pc2400 ram with no quams. im installing the os right now, so overclocking will come later. i might post results later, too

i'm building a system with an epox 8kha+ and i need ram for it. i want a better latency but im having serious trouble finding pc2100 256mb CAS2 sticks. mushkin offers one (with a heatspreader, woohoo), but it costs $109 and is backordered. i found that corsair has CAS2 ram, but in the pc2400...

Best Upgrade Card (from TNT2 ultra) for an Oc'd PIII700?

if you really would rather not spend more than $150, look at some geforce2 flavors. a friend of mine has an mx (400, i think if that applies) and it does him fine (he being a moderate gamer like yourself, sounds like). but geforce3 ti200 would kind of stand out on a p3 700 (oc'd), maybe not...

Need help choosing card for new system.

you could look for something with firewire. that would probably cut some corners. whether it be a gf3 or ati8500 with firewire, or a seperate video input card. firewire = nice

Which sound card do you suggest?

if you have a good speaker setup (like a subwoofer and more than 2 satellites) you could go with something else a step up. i have a hercules game theater xp (no relation to windows) and i love it. the sound quality is awesome and it lets you get some direction in games if you have 4...

Optical Mouse Question?

yeah, its usb. its designed to be plugged and unplugged but, i know one way to turn the light off. it involves a phillips screwdriver, tho. dont break the bulb, tho. that could mess somethin up. just paint it ot put tap over it. and i do mean the light thats in the back (just for show)...
