System wont boot into setup!

thanks for finding that for me Boon still hangs at the same spot. Im going to try swapping out the cdrom for another.

on the top of the drive it says "Jumper J50: Master/single- ON Slave- OFF" does that mean take the jumper off to make it a slave?

System wont boot into setup!

Theres no jumper on the hardrive... The jumper on the cdrom is set to master and the hard drive is set to slave on the cable but theres no jumper physically installed on there. Its a very old drive and doesnt show the jumper layout positions. Where should I put it?

Its on the southbridge, the one that says IDE, not ATA I have two boards laying around, same thing is happening on both of them. I also have an Epox 133 board but the cooler I have doesnt fit on that one. Might have to go out and get a new cooler and just use the epox

I cant even get that far. They are both on IDE 1. I tried splitting them onto two different cables on IDE 1 and 2 to no effect. Now they are both on the same cable going into IDE 1. Tried every bios setting, from default to turning off all uneccessary devices. Still nothing. Could it be a bad CD...

MOBO not detecting hardrives all of a sudden

I've heard that too, but that does that explain why it would just stop working out of nowhere after a year of solid performance? The HPT detects it after the POST screen, but when I go into the BIOS, all it sees are the CDROM drives. The comp stops booting at the IRQ page after the POST screen.

DSL connection keeps dropping me out of Counterstrike! HELP!

I can play CS for about 10-30 minutes before it just drops me off the server and back to the console. I have a Speedstream router and a Netgear NIC, this never use to happen at my old house with the same equipment on a different ISP. What could be casuing this problem now?

Hey guys Im about to relinquish my old XP 1600 system and let my case fall to the darkside... What combination of Motherboard and CPU should I use? I've been to a few sites and was considering a ABIT BH7 and a 2.53, is there any better p4 overclocker atm other than 2.53 for not too much more...

Best free Webcam recording/compression program?

Im looking for a good program to record movies from my USB 2.0 webcam that includes compression software. Is there any such program, or even a retail product that I should buy that has pretty good features? Compression is a big thing since Im filming in 640x480 at 30fps. Any suggestions?
