Satellite internet - which way to go?

I'm researching the best deal/service for satellite internet, since I'm moving to an area without cable (how is THAT possible), and I'm wondering what expertise you guys can provide from experience or even word of mouth!?!? And, no, there really isn't any other option: I can't get cable and I'm...

HELP!: Power On...< 2 seconds...POWER OFF!!

Well, fortunately or unfortunately, I see no visibly bad caps. Obviously that doesn't mean one of them can't be bad, but I can't rely on it either. Any other suggestions? Does it sound like a power supply gone kaput? Does it sound like a spike-related problem (lightning)?

Interesting that you mention leaking caps. Of the two suggestions I received thus far on this, both have stated the caps as being a problem for this era of Abits. I haven't looked yet, but I sure will.

I'm hoping someone has had some experience with this. First of all, this is an AMD Athlon system with a ABIT KT7a-Raid motherboard. Yesterday, the system is running fine - I've never had any problems with it. Today I noticed the screen saver isn't kicking in - this is my one and only symptom...

What makes you think I don't ask MYSELF that question every friggin minute?!?!? Actually, the extended partition was not visible before I had "upgraded" to dynamic, no matter what method I tried. So, as I mentioned, I decided to be no smarter than your average lemming and follow Microsoft's...

Apparently I was wrong about there being someone else out there that has seen this situation. But, alas, all is good!! I recommend wholeheartedly, with all of my A+ cert, computer-geeky being the program GetDataBack!!! This is wickedly SIMPLE to use and it absolutely scoured my hard drive...

CD Burner Won't Burn at Full Speed

I definately agree with endo, in fact I might put money on it (if I had it!). Here's my submission to a guy with the same problem a little while ago (he was running Win98): First, as a safety net, make sure your Buffer Underrun protection is on in the burning software (I'm SURE you have it)...

I should mention that, per recommendations (from Microsoft - ugh - and other sites), I upgraded the basic disk to dynamic disk. From what I've read, however, at that point I should be able to see the old data(?). Does anyone know if I should "create a new volume," either normal or spanned, to...

Need help with buffer underun errors

Glad I could help. I've been through that same frustration and had to stumble on to the answer myself. So anytime I see those symptoms, it definitely rings a bell.
