Are the new models more reliable? I like the no-cap idea of the Sandisk flash, but the 512MB titanium died on me after about 1yr of infrequent usage. Many reviews now point to the same thing.
AsusP5B Deluxe

At 3GHz it was heating up to 65+ degrees on Orthos; most likely the heatsink isn't placed properly (i think one of the holders popped off momentarily while I was trying to wrestle the fan on there)...
Please disregard... Dr.Google showed me a workaround (tapping ctrl to load old CMOS settings fixed it, at least it seems that way for the time being)

Just finished building my new PC; last step was to update drivers BIOS etc etc. So I downloaded the latest AsusUpdate and flashed...
I just got quite a few parts for a new system, one of them an Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 for use w/ a Radeon X1950XT. Instructions and reviews online say they come with thermal pads; I don't see any on my fan, nor do I see any in the package separately. Do these no longer come w/ the card or...
Thanks for the replies.
Guess I will try and see how far the e4300 goes; I was ready to plunk down cash for a diff. processor, but I think the anxiety bug's gone away now. Hell, it sounds like you can get lucky with either chip...
I'm upgrading my PC for the first time in ~2yrs. I don't really plan on upgrading the Mobo/CPU again for quite a while; after reading good things about the e4300 I may have jumped the gun a little too early by ordering one of them for a system I want to have mostly up-to-date for quite a while...
Apologies for bringing back a slightly older thread.
I recently got my 2405, but while looking for info on the 2407 I ran into this Japanese site comparing eyestrain among some LCD monitors. The tests are subjective and the guy explains that he is by no means an expert on this, but the tests...
Dell Japan had a sale on the 2407's for 80000yen That lasts till the end of 3/22 in Japan. Around ~$750 for the panels I guess, though they may be trying to boost initial sales is all.
While I was looking around for info on the Japanese sites though, I did run into quite a few forum threads...
OK, about 35 pages into this thread I realized I'm way past bedtime (yay for coffee)... In any case.
Looking both at the topics here (upto where I've read) I'm interested in getting one of the foam toppers. I just recently moved to a new area though, and only have some coleman travel-type...
As long as you got the necessary wires plugged, there's no need to plug in extras like the HDD LEDs and such for operation. Also, if its a Chieftec ( = Antec clone) it might very well be just some connectors for a frontal USB port.

Alright, thanks for the response folks.
I'll probably end up getting the isopropyl, but since I can test it out on my parents' system first (a Tbird 800), I'll try the 99% purity one first. If that gets busted, well... it's time to go get some new fluids :)

Hiyas.
I just got the GC68's from SVCompucycle to replace the stock hsf on my system. While I have the general idea of what I'm supposed to do, I figured I could use some extra help...
1) Arctic Silver's site suggested the usage of pure isopropyl alcohol. We found a container of "99% pure...
I have a XP1800+, and was able to get the board setup by manually setting the processor speed on the BIOS. Then again, it's not running well yet so I still have a few problems to resolve :\
