770 vs. 280x to replace misbehaving MSI 670

You just need to use something like Afterburner to lower the clockspeed a bit or raise the voltages a bit. Made my 670 PE OC completely stable.

Is the memory clock suppose to be running at Max speed when watching youtube?

Really, really impressed with my new chromebook

A word of warning depending on what color you bought. The plastic that HP used is like the most stainable material known to man and there is no way to clean it that I have found short of sanding the plastic down.. Even placing the laptop in a carrying case will stain it.

I'd be very interested in reading about the differences. One thing I just realized is that the XPS 12 is like a year old at this point. I wonder if they are going to be launching a refreshed model sometime soon. Would explain the great deals being found on them recently.

Is it possible to load Android on an Atom based Win 8 tablet?

This doesn't really help you at all, but I found out yesterday that Intel had built a Kit Kat x86 build for the XPS 12. Kind of awesome if you own an XPS 12, which hopefully I will in the next few days.

I am also no longer interested in the Surface Pro 3 anymore for many of the reasons you listed. The XPS 12 was on sale a day ago for $550 new shipped on ebay. For that price its an absolute steal. Not to mention that you can run Android natively on the XPS 12 because Intel released a Kit Kat...

Is it possible to load Android on an Atom based Win 8 tablet?

Maybe try Genymotion? Last time I tried it, it worked pretty flawlessly on my desktop. Its running android from within windows, so battery life wont be anything special. Would love to hear back how it runs on limited hardware like that.

Chromebook Question

Yea, it sucks that the displays on the intel based laptops are TN panels with low resolution, but personally I think they are good enough, especially for the price. I think the performance boost the intel based chromebooks have over the ARM based ones is worth taking the hit on the display.

Antutu is the go to I guess. Its what most people over at XDA use to compare performance when overclocking the everliving crap out of their phones and tablets.

Why doesn't Samsung further Optimize? Android.

Samsung adds a thousand features on top of android, many of which require constantly running services. That takes a toll. Also the emmc used in the GS5 doesn't seem to be the best, which may have an effect on performance. You get the same exact lags on stock android when you bloat it up with...
