You should try to pick up last months issue of CPU magazine. They review a bunch of 865PE boards. MSI Neo2-FISR got editors choice and had the highest benchmarks, even topping some 875 boards, but like the previous guy said, MSI has a poor reputation for quality.
My 9600 has been working like a champ for two months now and I use XP. Although I haven't upgraded to those drivers that were released just a few days ago. And I never run WinDVD or Power DVD. Maybe you should reinstall DirectX.
Not overheating, underheating. The card isn't getting enough voltage. Check the rails, like Cuular said. The 9700 pro and 9500 pro both are very finicky about voltage. The new 9600 is not.
I find it hard to believe that a BIOS update occurs in the back ground. I would check the version # when your computer starts up and then find out if that is the latest.
Maybe you should try reflashing your BIOS with the latest version. Or see if there are updates for your mother boards drivers. I believe there is actually a driver for the AGP slot, although yours may be the latest.

Wow this is crazy, seeing as I just bought the exact same PS, 430 True Power, from the same exact same vendor Newegg. I'm building my PC this weekend, I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm building a new system based on a Gigabyte HKNXP and Intel 2.6 Ghz and I get the BIOS screens but Can't get the Windows LOGO. I think I have the blue screen of death, it says Windows has terminated the system to prevent a problem, check your system for viruses...
My question is, is it...
I'm assembling a new system and can't figure out how to connect the HDD, RES and Power LED wires to the mother board because I don't know which wire is positive and which is negative because my case has a one page manual and mentions nothing about the bundle of wires coming from the front panel...
I purchased an OEM ATI 9700 Pro on Ebay and it's turned into a nightmare. When I boot up, after the Windows XP logo I get a black screen with a little yellow square in the upper left corner. I installed the latest Mother Board drivers from the VIA website for my ASUS P3V4X. I have the latest...
