It does not seem to have anything to do with the "guest networks". If they are enabled then it broadcasts 3 networks per band. I tried disabling the Wi-Fi using the physical button on the back of the router and even then it STILL broadcast the two hidden networks.
I finally decided to try...
Thanks but I still don't really see anything that answers my question.
I'm 99% sure it's this router. I can tell by the MAC addresses, signal strength, and the fact the networks appear/disappear depending on if this router is powered on. There are not a lot of neighboring networks and...
I just bought a new TP-Link Archer A7 AC1750 router and I noticed that it ALWAYS broadcasts a hidden network on each band (2.4GHz and 5GHz). I manually configured the Wi-Fi networks and all of them are set to broadcast their SSID. I've even tried disabling the wireless radios and these hidden...
A year or two ago I found and booted up our old Zenith laptop. It's an 8088-8MHz, 512 or 640KB RAM (can't remember exactly), no HD, dual 720K 3.5" floppy drives, monochrome screen. It still mostly worked, except for one floppy drive and the battery. I've also got our old Amstrad desktop. It's...
There is no "master". When any unit thinks it detects smoke it will send a signal to all the other connected units, setting off their alarms as well. The "initiating" unit can be any one (or multiple) of the connected smoke detectors. You usually have to silence the "initiating" unit to quite...
I had to RMA a card (Radeon HD5830) to Sapphire a couple years ago and the experience was not very good. There were issues with communication (not responding to emails). When I finally got the card replaced they sent me a defective card. It was obviously not the same card as the issues were...
I'm probably in the minority but I actually value a game's audio more than its graphics. Good music is a huge deal to me. Sadly, I think games had better music back in the 90's, even when most of it was MIDI. Of course you needed a a good sound card for it to sound decent, preferably wavetable.
My father talked me into getting a Celeron 300A with the highest end Step Thermodynamics cooler. That ended up being one of my most regretted PC related purchases. It took them forever (months) to actually ship it and I was stuck using an old P166 while I waited for it to come. Even with this...
I've played a number of ARPG's over the last year so I'll just toss out my opinions:
Van Helsing - I'll state up front that I've only played VH1 and half of VH2 and both were almost exclusively multi-player (LAN) games. I love the look, atmosphere, and humor. There's some really great stuff...
I'm not doing it. I've done a few of GOG's random cheap game promos in the past and I've never gotten anything I really cared for. I'll just save my money and wait for the stuff I actually want to go on sale. Now, the Van Helsing 1+2 release and 75% off promo does interest me.
Actually, Page Plus is $10 (for 100 minutes) every 120 days (which is 4 months). It's also possible to get 2000 minutes for $80, which lasts 1 year.
That can easily be beat. Just look at the Page Plus rates mentioned above. 1 year of service is $20 less and gives you twice as many minutes...
Nope. The BIOS checks to make sure autochk.exe is the Lenovo version and not the Microsoft version. If it's not the Lenovo version it overwrites it at boot.
