Do you guys use the "safely remove usb device" option in windows for thumb drives?

I actually had a problem with a flash drive once (which may or may not have been related to me not choosing the "remove safely" option). It became unusable after moving it from one computer to another until I reformatted it. It's possible it had nothing to do with me skipping the "safety"...

Did I ruin my motherboard? Or is something else wrong?

Update: it turned out the motherboard was bad. I bought a Gigabyte EP45-DS3L and got it back up and running again. EP45 is harder to get a stable tune than the P35, but finally got it straightened out for now.

Upgrading P35 to P45, will it require reinstalling Windows XP?

No problems here either. I just replaced a dead Gigabyte P35 with a fresh Gigabyte EP45 and replaced my video card. I did not reinstall Windows Vista 64.

Did I ruin my motherboard? Or is something else wrong?

No insult, even intelligent people do stupid things, right? Yes, I'm using the cables plugged into the slots labeled "PCI-E" on the power supply. I can get into BIOS just fine, but I can't boot to safe mode. I tried resetting the BIOS to optimized and default, same result.

I have the same board with an E6750. Even in power saving mode (where it's typically running at 2 Ghz versus 2.67 Ghz) my nb (temp1 on SpeedFan) hovers in the 54C range (which SpeedFan thinks is high), though all my other temps are good (cores are ~21-23). I've never had stability problems...
