Hello, I'm curious if I should scramble to grab the upgrade, or not sweat it. At this point in time I am running an older OCZ 600W "SLI" PSU. I just upgraded from a single 5770 to dual 6850's. Doing some research around shows that they use a max of 398W of power, while my PSU offers 420W...

Better cpu cooler vs. better case

So I'm currently using a Rosewill case with 2 120mm fans I recently upgraded to Scythe fans blowing front to back. My CPU cooler is an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 Rev.2. Currently, at stock clocks on my Core i5-2500k I'm sitting at ~29-30C mobo temp all the time (always the same, even...

Outrageous i5-2500k temps?

Getting rid of the Arctic Cooling MX-2 and applying Arctic Silver 5 has dropped my temperatures at idle to ~32-34C and my load temps to ~55C, this is after instantly applying it and allowing no burn-in time at all.

Outrageous i5-2500k temps?

This is totally stock clocks. and after going to sleep and waking up after 20 minutes of Prime95 now its only going to 55C. Man this thing is confusing me.

There was a thin layer on the heatsink pre-applied. After ~10 minutes of Prime95 it seems to be solid at ~60C. Not sure what to think of this.

Outrageous i5-2500k temps?

I'm using a Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 Rev.2 along with my 2500k. According to ASRock's mobo utility, it's idling between 41-44C. There's no way this is right. Could it be that I need to let the cooling goo "burn in?"

Wierd memory timings

My memory is advertised to have a CAS of 5. When I use CPU-Z, it shows up as having a latency of 10-15-15-31! Why? :(

Celeron D vs. P4 Northwood

I have a 400mhz FSB Northwood 2.8ghz, i've been looking for an upgrade sometime soon, but the $200+ 800mhz processors are almost out of my price range, i'm a student and i'm trying to keep it $150 and under... While looking at the CPU price guide, I noticed they make Celeron D's in the socket...
