The radiator is very thick.
I wanted to mount the fan in the front of the case, but it is also thick and would not allow the cover to fit. I am trying to find a thinner 200mm fan to squeeze in he front for some push/pull action.
I love the fact that the setup is super quiet, even the wife...
Its cool no biggie.
The floor vent is nearby, but not close enough to the case. The temps are just fine for me.
Pump --> CPU --> 240mm rad --> 200mm rad --> Pump
After researching online, as long as the flow is good there is no point in having the radiator before or after the cpu, due to...
I only added the flow thing because I needed a spot to put the temp probe.
I wanted to use the spare on the pump block but it is blocked by the mount in the rear.
I finally finished my first custom loop:

Hello All,
I am updating my old system, well actually replacing it with something faster and better.
I know what kind of power this new setup will draw and how loud it will be, but I am not too worried. This is going into a rack in my basement and Only 12 drives will be active. The other...
I wanted to post some testing that I did with my new WHS 2011 Server
Here are the specs:
Asus M4A87TDU3
Phenom II X4 830 (H50 cooler)
4 x 2gb ECC DDR3 Ram
80gb Intel G2 SSD (it was a spare and it is not part of the pool)
Highpoint RocketRaid 2720GSL with SAS to SATA cables
4 x 1tb WD Blue Sata...
I have another system I can test with so maybe I will try freenas again. I was having a crappy day and nothing wanted to play nice. I will let you know as soon as I get it set up and loaded.
Also for freenas how do the PC backups work and how easy is it to restore them
So here is the system I have decided to go with (for the moment)
Phenom II x4 830
Asus M4A87TDU3 mobo
8gb DDR3
Cheap video card (PCI too)
Intel 80gb SSD (OS)(I know it is overkill, but it was a spare and works)
4 x 1tb WD Blue Sata III drives (NO RAID, using Drive Bender)
1 x 1tb Hitachi sata II...
Ok so I am playing with my spare SS4200 again and trying different things to see what it can and cant do.
I have attached an Crucial M225 64gb SSD to the IDE port via an adapter to test how fast it will benchmark. Yeah I know, but it is fun.
Main system setup:
E2140
2gb DDR2
60gb OCZ...
I may have to look at Freenas. Since I have 2 setups that are identical (SS4200) I may try freenas and WHS2011 and see which one I like better all around.
Thanks for the info and tomorrow I may start testing things out
Thanks
Goal is to get my WHS backup and running, but no make a new system.
1. Stream DVD/blurays
2. Backup 5 laptops, 2 desktops
3. Access 10yrs worth of files, pics, etc
4. Easy to use system
I have WHS V1 and WHS 2011 already so I thought I would use them since I got em.
I am open to other...
