Help with athlon 1.2 266fsb and abit kt7

we have two 1.2 GB 266 t-birds. both are unlocked. it first booted at 900. then changed to multiplier of 12 = 1200. then changed to multiplier of 9 and fsb 133 = 1200 Mhz.

must push reset switch to cold boot

yes, it is an Asus A7V. however, the Plug n Play setting is already turned on in the Bios. any other suggestions before I reflash?

I've been cruising along for 3 weeks after getting Win Y2K configured. Using the 1005c version for bios. Now the computer won't cold boot without hitting the reset button. Power up cold boot freezes...does not appear to POST; as no evidence of checking the RAM or any messages on the screen...

Shutdown problem with A7V

That happened to mine, too. I changed the OS to Win2000. Have you checked your Power management in Control Panel? Go to the Power icon and double click. Then select one of the tabs that lead to "enable advance power management" (Sorry, I am not at my computer - so I don't remember...

Can't get Win2000 to shutdown computer

in order to have your computer automatically turn its power off after you've initiated the shutdown command, you have to enable the 'Advanced Power Management Support" option. First, go into Control Panel, click on the Power Options icon, and select the 'APM' tab; then enable.

Win2k shutdown isn't totally shutting down my system.....

before you start flashing, try enabling the 'Advanced Power Management Support" option. First, go into Control Panel, click on the Power Options icon, and select the 'APM' tab; then enable.

3 second lag spikes using win2k? Also win2k wont shutdown must be an option?

AMD Thunderbird 650 OVERCLOCKABLE????

I'm putting one together right now. I did get it stable @800 with ME. using an A7V. Now I just got a new Maxtor 30 GB hd and am trying to load 2000. I am trying to get a stable OS, then tweak it some more. let me know what works for you. mike mywong23@mail.com

What can I NOT do in windows 2000 that I can in Windows 98/ME

how about in regards to overclocking? Win2000 in my son's Celeron 300a/466 won't run oc'ed. It is back to 300MHz. Anyone else have problems oc'ing with 2000 or ME?

Dulanic, what is your bios version? what voltage are you using? have you considered the voltage tweak in Tom's Hardware?
