OSSEC doesn't inspect system calls or really look at CPU usage. "Quantitative measure of risk to the system" is up to the user to figure out (along with delicious fat free bacon).

I think the closest thing would be kqueue, and it may be a poor substitute in this case.

This ended up being some setting on the ldap side. It's fixed now. Thanks for the help!

The option to remove them is also greyed out. I've tried using the uninstall scripts for Growl, but on re-install it's still greyed out. I'll try with another account a bit later. Thanks for the idea.

I have 3 panes in System Preferences that are greyed out, and can't seem to figure out how to get access to them. There's Flip4Mac, Growl, and MacFUSE. After installing growl and opening System Preferences I get something about not being able to access the preferences pane: "To see this...

Use the email address you plan on emailing from. If you don't want people to have your name, obviously don't use it.

linux help: shell scripts are REALLY slow when networking is enabled

I don't know csh very well, but look for an option to print out the lines that are beingexecuted as the script runs (-x in better shells). Figure out where it's hanging.

vim can color code python, but I don't think the % thing works. At least, I can't seem to find a way for it to do much of anything (unless I have some '(' and corresponding ')'. I find python to be easier to follow (when reading) than perl, but that's probably just my shitty perl.
