I have been looking at various reviews and benchmarks for the SSDs. Anyone able to tell me which SSDs will support the TRIM feature other than the newest Intel? Some reviews talk about updated firmware and such but it still doesn't come right out and state what I am sure is obvious to someone...
2.15 per gig. Not too bad. If the firmware supports TRIM then I would say it isnt a bad deal at all with the Intel coming in at $100 more for an additional 20 gig.
Of course other than the Intel G2 vs G1 I can't tell which other SSD brands supports TRIM.
Anyone know of any time killer games that can be downloaded? looking for a smallish flash type game that is freeware. Recently I have found I have some extra time on my hands and need to kill some time.
Correct. I only upgrade every 2-4 years so by the time I am ready to upgrade again there will be all new stuff out there to look at and agonize over.
I also will be using the computers for work at home stuff in addition to an older CAD program as mentioned in previous posts.
Additionally...
I overclock so I can start talking about it to my wife and she "tunes me out". Bliss and peacefullness reigns supreme for about an hour.
In addition to that I got into OC by way of spending less money on something I enjoy doing (working with and on computers). I get more satisfaction out of...
That is what I was getting at. That I would not use anywhere near 80 gig for programs and OS. So 64 gig (OCZ) should do as well if I opted for that instead of the Intel.
You are correct I think. So if I go with a 64GB OCZ or 80GB Intel I am looking at appx 25-35% of my OS drive being taken up just by the OS and one program huh? Seeing as how I only have two other programs that each run no more than 500MB each that should be a real problem I would imagine. By...
Thumb Drives and external hard drives are banned from use unless you get exemptions and exemptions are assigned to your user profile and given based on a logical need rather than want or nice to have "just in case". All USB ports are blocked from use, this includes most USB peripherals that can...
Because I do not intend to upgrade again until I re-eniust (2014) as well as plan on using Win7. This will keep me going for a good long while with no need for updates or anything for most new games in the coming years as well. Not to mention as posted above the wife will be doing more work at...
Unfortunately I do not have a Microcenter where I live (North Caorlina). Nothing close enough to balance the cost of the gas and time it would take anyway (closest is 330mi away).
Maybe I need to move to be closer
I am looking hard at the various SSds that are coming out. How do you tell which SSD has the TRIM featur and which does not? It has been said that is why Intel pulled their G2 SSds back. Are there other SSds that perform as well as the G2 Intel SSDs? If so could you list a few? I see the...
