In the matter of consumer graphics, I don't think lack of compute is a very big issue. We are talking about gaming here. I think I understand where he's coming from. It's not a metric of perf/w it's more a matter of perf/comfort of mind. I used to be all into the "moar cores" After a while...

Better yet, how much of the media you are watching is in 4K? 4k seems to be just a way to sell a new generation of more expensive TVs...and aside from a few test videos circulating on the net there's not even any native 4K content available...

Just what is someone with ~$200 to spend and a 7850 & 500W PS supposed to buy?

Oh wow, I was in almost the exact situation about 2 months ago you are now. I had a 2500K at 4ghz, and a 7850 GPU, gaming at 1080 and was feeling like I needed a little more power. I did have a slightly better PSU though, an EVGA 500W with a single 40A 12V rail. I was waiting on the 960ti/965...

MSI mobo owners

I recently bricked my MSI H81I mobo while flashing through the bios MFLASH ultility. The flash actually looked like it was completed, then the motherboard wouldn't boot up ever again. So yah, even the MFLASH is suspect now in my mind. No removable bios chip on this motherboard either or I would...

Are any Celeron 1037U Motherboards actually available?

When I first got the mobo, there must have been an error in engineering or QC, as the spacers they used for the HS/fan kept it from properly contacting the CPU. I was getting temps of 105C at boot and constant crashes and stuff. After I corrected the problem myself, I'm seeing far more normal...

Are any Celeron 1037U Motherboards actually available?

I have a small file server (it's offline most of the time) that I built with the ECS NM70-I2. It works pretty good with windows 2k8R2. Just remember to check the heatsink/fan. You may need to remove the spacers assuming they never fixed the problem.
