A firewall doesn't mean you're screwed, it just means that you have to be a little bit more creative with your setup. I don't know much about it but if you can give some specifics I'm sure somebody can help you figure it out.
<< I got the computer to run it as a task, so it starts at the startup of the computer and it can't be seen in the task bar. I can see it running when I go Ctrl-Alt-Del and have a look in the task list (CPU usage 99% :D) But I think it will still come up with this message:

The revolutions per minute will be exactly the same. The linear distance traveled by a point on the disk increases as you go out farther from the center. Don't confuse the two.
