audigy + kt266a = mp3 skip??!!!

I used to have this problem w/ a kt133 & sblive and I'd never thought I'd have it again w/ this combo. Using XP, clean install, updated chipset, audio drivers and sp1. Could this be the result of FSB O/C? If you're thinking about the mp3's, they're fine, tested them in another pc.

Athlon 2000+ running at 55C safe?

It's a bit high, but as long as your computer's stable at that temp don't need to worry.

AMD CPU... having problems.. help please

Look at your mobo manual or manufacturer's website if its a KT133 no dice running the FSB at 133. If its a KT133A or higher you might need a better power supply. Try using 3dmark2001 se and set it to loop, to test for stability. Although your best bet is you have an under- powered CPU or a...

Is there a mobo brand you swear by?

So far after building systems for a couple of computer rental shops, I'd go w/ ASUS. Nothing beats their reliability, stability, and set of features. But if your scrimping try ECS a no frills, basic, stable board...

cmedia 6.1 onboard vs sblive!

I've tried both and if your just playing games & mp3s then just use the cmedia chip. Cmedia is compatible w/ eax and even a3d.

How to clean copper heat sink?

thanks for the info. i guess i need to dry it by putting it in front of a desktop fan. wouldn't green colored corrosion develop when the copper gets wet?

I've open my case monthly to clean it and make sure no dust builds up on my hsf or case fans. I currently have a Ttake Volcano 7+ and the top of fins is so full of dust. I've used clean paint brush to try sweep the dust away but there's still a layer that's just stuck there. What's the best...

I'd replace your PSU w/ a more reliable 350W branded unit. I had the same board but equipped w/ an Athlon XP 1700+, Geforce3 Ti200 and 2 sticks of generic 256 PC266 DDR. It worked great, and feeling adventurious I downloaded a copy of Cheepobios and was able to do a modest OC of the bus from 133...

STUPID A7V333!!!

Had the same problem w/ a T-Bird 750 and A7V. It acted flaky and would demonstrate a lot of errors. A friend suggested I increase the voltage. I did and it worked flawlessly.

I guess I'm just jittery after loosing two hds and a mobo because of cheepo power supply before the holidays. Guess you're right after all--after rebooting the bios readings were quite different from the two programs mentioned.

Weird CPU Voltage Reading...

I installed ASUS PC Probe. The core reading was the same as mbm. But for the +12V was at 13.20, making it alarm incessantly. Hmmm how can booting into windows change the reading from the sensors? This is the 1st time I've eperienced this.
