Other than needing to upgrade my psu is there any reason I should not get a Titan Pascal ?
Its looking like after doing more research that my current psu is sort of on a ticking clock to go bad so that’s one thing that needs to happen before too long anyway
But I’ve got let’s for the sake of...
No dead line right now - the entire thing is in the planning stage
I'll kee that in mind if I do end up setting up a temp network
if people want to hold off on additional replys for now until I have further info with greater detail - the replys so far have given me a decent idea on what...
All this is in the most basic stage of development and I'm more than aware I don't fully know what the needs are.
Closest project I've done on this size of a scale wasn't setting up a network but doing a full alarm system for a massive warehouse( football field sized) but that's a totally...

Actually I think it was, from looking at this it implies the 5870 was the low end option for this laptop.

Title says it all I think. Trying to do testing but would like to avoid needing to buy a whole bare bones or mobo. Think the mobo is dead... that or the CPU. Went and got a "new ".5870 from eBay but of course there are no returns so I don't know if I have 2bad cards or a bad board at this...
I only need to have an initial ten or so set up. I might be able another ten grand in the budget to ensure scaling with the projected growth
I want to try and get 20 stations to cover initial growth to be honest
I'm looking at various options on setting up a network for ten users to start with possible projected experienexpansion to a Max of 50 users. Will likely start with 10 to 15 users and limited contact use period( only admin and management)
Might steer towards thin clients.
Building will...

he's looking to build a new main pc and is looking for extra performance now to stave off upgrading sooner than later
I'll pitch the e350 to him as it could be a fairly viable option and save a bit of $$ overall and be a true htpc and not just a main rig serving as htpc roles
Ok
helping a co-worker with a htpc build
here are the basic needs:
hdmi out
audio over hdmi - will only be stereo at the moment
single slot
good decoding performance at full 1080p over the usual codecs
ability to handle various non 3d bluray profiles
very good image quality...
that about sums it up. I have a friend looking for someone on a fairly decent sized project. Review over the site burmed.com and that is pretty much what they are going for.
Similar functionality needed and very similar products will be up.
Not looking for anyone part time as they'd like...
Most of the sites I've found have reviews that aren't too damned good. He just is looking for a name to put to bed whom ever is pestering him.
Let me know, figured it was OT if anything ;)
I must resist - been thinking about getting another 775 board to mess around with and this would be a fun OC'ing one
not sure my FSB limits on my cpu yet - run her 24/7 at 560fsb
