anyway to build a gaming computer for $450?

I see 2 ways to go here, and both have compromises. The first will allow you to slip in a Conroe (or Quad) later for much better performance at a low upgrade price. The second is MUCH faster today for gamers but is a relative dead-end. $456 Gaming CPUMobo/Ram/Video? Good Upgrade potential...

Well, not exactly. The 680i supports 1333fsb. Why not stick with a Gigabyte S3/DS3. It seems to fit your needs well at a good price.

Bad Ram or what?

Your ram and cpu are fine, otherwise you would be complaining of system crashes or no boot conditions. This is probably either a software issue, or a bloated windows install. One thing to check is if you have enough ram. Open Task Manager again and see if your peak commit charge exceeds total...

PSU Recomendations

Starting with the 2nd question first, this would be a huge performance increase. BUT...WHY are you crippling this upgrade with that AsRock mobo? You are not trying to carry over your old AGP card AND you are buying new ram. Why not buy a fast mobo with 4 DDR2 slots and PCI-E 16 video instead...

Dell gets AMD starting tomorrow

This is a good "foot in the door" for AMD since they benefit from the increased sales, especially since with ATI they should try to make progress in the integrated/budget market that Intel owns.

Who makes the most reliable hard drives?

All the OEMs publish MTBF (mean time before failure) ratings. Unfortunately they don't help much. IBM/Hitachi have a past record of widespread reliability issues litigated for years. Maxtor has had compatibility issues (only with nForce4 chipset mobos). Other brands only seem to have...

Need help building a good gaming computer!

I agree with raildogg, his list is about the best you can do building your own for the money. If you buy a Dell you're stuck with it until you throw it away. A mobo with 6150 integrated graphics will play games "good" and can be expanded anytime.
