no problem. the website said they dont host the download files directly. kinda wierd, but majorgeeks has it

Hard Shutdown. underpowered PSU?

sometimes i will get a hard power off. screens turn black, no BSOD, no beeps, nothing. it just shuts down. i am running a 250w PSU with 2 HDD, PCI vid card and AGP 8x card, and 2 optical drives, Pentium 4 (3.0? GHz), 1GB RAM... (overworked PSU, i know) could this be what is causing the power...

UPS to supply wireless router and cable modem

I have a 800VA belkin unit for my PC right now. I am thinking of retiring it for just a wireless router and cable modem, and upgrading the PC UPS to something larger. I am hoping this would support the router/modem for 45min+ but i dont know

dual channel or not?

acer laptop, centrino chip, it came stock with 256mb x 2. I went ahead and got a 1gb x1 stick for it. everything is the same speed, and dual channel is supported. would it be advised to run 1 GB + 256mb in the slots or just stick with 1GB

the DC jack needed to be replaced, got it fixed for $150 parts/labor at a local shop; which i guess is not too bad

Laptop Power Adapter Plug Acting up

yeah the cable has seen some trips and pulls... it is a laptop and i use it all the time on the go. no extended warranty, might give them a call to see if i can buy an extended warranty, then send her in for repair a few wks later :D

Laptop Power Adapter Plug Acting up

Acer Asspire 1690WLCI 14 months old recently i have been having problems with the plug where the AC adapter plug into the back of the computer. the plug clicks in fine. but it will not make good contact with the inside or something, i have to wiggle it a bit to get it to actually start...

btw,google speakers from van scam or something like that. same thing, only online.... either gonna be an empty box with bricks in it or noting at all. he is counting on you not contacting the police

Second hard drive question

what brand drive did you get? if you go to the manuf. website, they usually have a small program that will format/partition and copy your old HDD over to the new one seagate has this utitilty on their website
