Doh, that was supposed to say "reinstall" but I was typing it on my phone... Win 10 clean install sounds good to me. I know MS talked about letting it accept your old key as an upgrade without actually installing the old Windows first, but it wasn't available yet when I tried a couple of months...

I think the repair tool sets up its own c: drive, so that's why it gives the "real" one a different deferent letter. But regardless, I think we've reached a point where a really natal is your best bet.

FreeNAS vs Linux + btrfs + ?

Need your suggestion for a Laptop

I have a 480gb SSD in my desktop and install all of my games and software there; so far it's been big enough on it's own. I'm fairly aggressive about uninstalling games once I beat/get bored with them, though, so your mileage may vary. (I might only have 5-10 games installed at any given time. )...

Gaming PC !Help!

http://www.logicalincrements.com/#!/ is a good source for getting gaming hardware recommendations at different budgets, and their "Good" build is pretty darn similar to yours for about the same price, so I'd say your right on track.

Try creating a new user account (I think you can do that from safe mode) and then logging into that account - that should at least help narrow down the problem.

Computer hardware problem. Sometimes no post/bluescreen

You don't happen to have any local friends with PCs, do you? If so, you could try swapping parts one at a time - when they stert getting errors instead of you, you'll know you found the culprit. (They'd have to be a pretty good friend though!)

The Windows 8.1 DVDs from Microsoft does require a key to activate, and it probably will not accept your ASUS key. (I don't know why, but OEMs seem to get a "special" Windows keys that only work with their "special" copy of Windows.) I would recommend removing both of your current drives...

Help a newb?

That kangaroo does look interesting, although having used other systems with similar specs, it's definitely going to feel a bit slow compared to a more expensive option. But, yea, you can't beat the price. For a keyboard, I've used both the Logitech k400 and the k830 with my HTPC and both work...

I think most of what I was going to say has already been covered (AMD vs battery, waiting a bit), but... You might find that it's a much better deal to add these aftermarket. And, I *highly* recommend the SSD - it's boosts performance, battery life, and durability!
