Abit IT7 and USB 2.0

Nox, I did not think Abit offered a driver for the Intel USB hardware. The web link that comes with the driver CD still states that it is not available yet (and to be patient). Nilonym

setting up the Abit IT7...official thread would be nice !!

Love my IT7 (P41.6a@150fsb/3:4dram). How did you guys get USB 2.0 drivers installed for the Intel chipset? Everything I read states that Windows Update should just "detect" them, but it never does. Nilonym

Overclocking on IT-7 Max w/ P4 1.6A

I have this config almost exactly (same mobo, ram, cpu, even case...) . I currently run @150 fsb with the 3:4 dram ratio. I had to up the CAS to 2.5, but the bandwidth increase from 300 to 400 MHz more than makes up for it. Truly, that Samsung DDR is insane. I have pushed it to 420 just out of...

Abit IT7 and USB 2.0

Supposedly Windows Update is the place to find USB 2.0 drivers for the Intel 845e chipset, but it does not add them to the available files list on my system with the Abit IT7 mobo. I had originally installed some drivers buried way down in the Intel web site that I found through a link on this...

Abit AT7 & IT7 owners, can you offer commentary?

Just a follow-up from my earlier posts... After a few weeks of burn in, my rig is still stable @2.4GHz with 150fsb. This is a 1.6a in an Abit IT7 mobo, running "true" Samsung PC2700 @400MHz (150fsb with 3:4 multiplier). PCI/AGP bus is locked @33, btw. Temps with retail hs/fan are 39 idle to 54...

Thanks Kaervak, Just to be sure that I am not missing some sarcasm...are you serious? You mean "sand", as in, with sandpaper? Just construction grade run down to Ace hardware every day sand paper? Wouldn't that either a) have no effect because the heatsink is metal, or b) put permanent grooves...

Applying AS3 after a few days with retail TIP

I would like to apply some arctic silver 3 to replace my retail thermal interface pad (1.6a), but according to the arctic silver website instructions, once you allow the TIP to melt you can never remove it completely. Am I screwed? Is it still worth removing as much of the TIP as possible and...

Looper, I don't really know. I am assuming that PC3200 is rated at DDR400, so at the very least you could be confident that it could handle that speed. My Samsung doesn't seem to have a problem with 400 at default voltage (2.5v), so I guess it really comes down to price. Good luck. Nilonym
