No worries. I found an easy work around. It appears the analog ports on the motherboard are not working for sound, but my USB headset is working just fine so I am all set for a long time! Thanks for your help Islndboi!

Thanks OP! Been waiting for a deal on a cheap E2140-80. Edit: Is this site getting hammered or something? Some pages are loading with the snap of a finger but others take 1+ minute and/or timeout.
