Hi,
I have a N150 PIII 800 and I did overclock it to 840mhz with CPUFSB. I just randomly picked clock generators in the program until it worked. No matter what generators I chose it could only go up to 840mhz. After this small success and lots of lockups I gave up the overclocking. Sorry, I did...
You may want to lower your Vcore lower to run the computer at lower temperature or use quieter fan. The CPU may still run at pretty decent speeds. My Duron 600 can run upto 550mhz under 1.1 V and 800mhz at 1.3V. My 1Ghz Thunerbird can reach 1.42Ghz at 1.65V. The temp different between full...
I glued one left over carpet on the inside of my case cover to cut down the noise. Certain kinds of shipping sponges are also good for dampening the noise. I guess we need to be more innovative as long as the air flow inside the case is not blocked.

Any one got the RMA # for return yet? It took me one hour on hold and got hung up when someone at the RMA picked up the phone. I called Paul up later and left a message. No return call yet. Will try again Monday.
Finally got my 512MB stick but they messed up my order and sent a pc100 case2 ECC RAM instead of a pc133. However, the invoice states: PC133 ECC Registered SDRAM Gateway 6400. Having not received my gateway server so I put this RAM in my Abit kt7 motherboard and it works fine at 100mhz case 2...
Just bought one 512MB ECC stick from paul. He did ask my computer model (Gateway 6400) before the order was processed. The shipping via regular mail is $6.95.
Found some interactive charts handy for T-bird overclocking. It shows you graphic bridge connections for different Vcore and multiplier settings.
Interactive Charts for overclockings
I had similar problems before. After redoing the L1s and put back the CPU the system runs fine at the default settings(make sure you pull the CPU out of the socket at least for seconds). It seems to me that you did not do a good job in connecting the L1s even before this problem happened. I...
Now I recalled that AMD uses Taisol fan but I don't know which model was used. My duron 600 cooler has smaller heatsink and uses 50mm Delta fan and this Taisol cooler use 60mm Delta fan. The stock fan is rated 9 cfm (?) and the 60mm fan is rated 18 or 21 cfm (?).
This may not be a hot deal but it is excellent for those people who DO NOT want to spend half of Duron price for a CPU cooler. Taisol CEK733092 CPU cooler is a cheap and reliable solution for moderate overclocking. It is quiet and efficient. (my 2 c's).
The cooler reduces my Duron temp at...
