want to set up my home pc as an ftp for when im at work/school

Search here for "in home ftp". I made a similar thread and someone posted a very simple program that does exactly what you want.

so my 6600gt idles at 24C

My 6600gt idles at 38c. Stock cooler. BTW I need to restore my 6600gt back to all default settings? How can I do that? I accidently set it so it thinks the dvi output is going to a hdtv so I can't get it to display. ugh. Also, only when the desktop first loads or when shutting down...

Just got a 6600GT AGP

oops forgot to connect the external power cable. Hooked that up and I see the correct speeds now. Score only went up to 5769.

Just got a 6600GT AGP

3d is set to 500mhz and memory is set to 1.8ghz. Isn't 1.8ghz extremely high? I'm raised and lowered it and hit test and nothing passes. 3dmark03 scores was 5696. Pentium 4 2.8ghz 1.5megs of ram (mix matched speeds). Dell Mobo so pretty ******. So I guess what I'm asking is that...

dual gigabit conncetions

Weakest chain in a link.... You're connection will only be as fast as the connection at the other end. If you have another comp with a 2Gbps connection then it will be worth doing. Otherwise no. But then again your switch is probably only 1Gbps so again it won't matter.

The Unofficial ASUS P5N-E SLI 650i Board Thread

So what ram is everybody agreeing on that is the best for this board? I'm not trying for world record OC's but 3ghz out of a e6600 would be nice. If I want 400mhz bus speed should I buy 800 ram or is there cheaper 667 ram that will OC nicely?

IF the router is connected to you and not the other way around then I don't think you will be able to do that.

Are these wireless devices? How about using a level1 or lever2 device? Or turn the dhcp off on the router then hook it up to your comp.

Homemade network cables? 1Gbps possible?

I got the intel pro/1000 software from the intel website. That has the ability to test the cable and many other tests. But its just for the pro adapter line I guess. I would look into the vendor of the adapter. I bet there are some 3rd party ones out there but I have never looked.

In-Home FTP. Possible?

Everything is 1Gb/s now. Max speed around 10MB/s. Factory cables all around. Guess its the comp being the bottle neck or maybe windows firewall. Only 8% but oh well.

Memory prices are falling?!

Micron Technology (MU) , a maker of memory chips used in consumer electronics, warned of softer prices for its DRAM and NAND flash chips. Micron Tech told analysts Friday that DRAM prices would drop 15% to 20% in the current quarter, while NAND flash would tumble 30% to 40%, according to broker UBS.
