I tried removing the battery and also i tried using the jumper to reset everything... Maybe I'll give your idea a shot (zeeon) for i'll probably have to remove it anyway if i get a new one.
Yeah I've tried just about everything now. Even tried using a paper clip to touch the two prongs where the power button connects in case it was the button. Tried taking out the cmos battery too... not sure what else i can try. I'm assuming it's the motherboard that's causing the problem.
this morning when i woke up i noticed my pc was off... it was running the night before and i left it on (like i always do) So anyway, it wouldn't turn back on this morning. There was a red led on the motherboard lit (not sure if that matters) but nothing would happen when i hit the power button...
