Best Silent PC Case?

Even with silent cases, I've learned that you have to meet the case halfway. It starts with silent components... A highly efficient power supply so there's less heat as waste. Quality VGA coolers (water or air) can drastically drop temps and be much quieter. etc, etc. But for the case, I also...

Win 10 deletes Win7 icons/start menu?

Is it normal for Windows 10 to delete your Win7 desktop icons and start menu shortcuts when going the upgrade path? Fine for clean installers, but that's a pretty dumb thing to do to upgraders. Nobody can find their apps. Luckily I was able to revert back to Win7 easily. Guess I'll wait...

Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme on LGA 1155?

I bought an ASRock P67 Pro3 motherboard back when I made my SB build. It has the 775 socket holes right on it too. I was able to transport my TRU120 over without a problem. Still cools like a champ. A number of their 1155 boards have alternate 775 holes.

window artifacts stay on screen

We've probably all experienced it before at one time or another... You're working with a program, then maybe you close or minimize the window, but some small portion of that program's window remains on the screen. It doesn't go away until you "scrub" it by moving something else over that area...

Advice on wattage

Yep, 500w is more than enough for that setup. Even though we don't know any specifics about the PSU, you're probably fine. General rule of thumb, you only really need to start thinking about something higher than 500w if you use more than one graphics card.

8800 GT w/New Cooler vs 8800 GTS G92

The GTs aren't terribly loud, but they do seem to run pretty hot. Get an after-market for the temperatures if you are anal about that sort of thing. But don't get one over just noise.

*DEAD* 8800GTs BACK IN-STOCK and $208 (MSI) and $235 (XFX) at Dell!

Canceled my Dell order. Is demand dying down? There's been a handful of 8800GTs on NewEgg starting at around $260 for at least the last day or so. It's not as good as $220 shipped, but it's not terrible compared to some earlier price rape.

Got my 12/26 delay note also. These things are getting delayed week-to-week-to-week with no consideration for actual availability. So it's extremely predictable to say we can expect another delay notice on 12/26. Then on 1/2/08, etc.
