Firefox loses file extension (format) when downloading

Does the file have a blank space somewhere in its filename? Google "truncfix" and see if the extension helps.

Firefox & filenames with spaces

If you happen to have Yahoo mail, try downloading an attachment. Anyone have any ideas to fix it via an extension? I think the stuff to look at is at /browser/contentAreaUtils.js. I was thinking of replacing suggestedFileName(), but I can't figure out how to override it. If I can't, I guess...

It's not because of how a file is named, it's how a web app gives out the filename. I can give a file a simple "weekly report.doc" name and I would get "weekly" instead. I don't know the exact details, but the problem has to do with something like parsing the content-disposition header and how...

Has anyone figured out how to fix the problem with downloading from certain sites (like Yahoo mail) where filenames with spaces are cut short? AFAIK, they are not willing to "fix" it since Firefox is just technically stricter in handling the filenames. I'm hoping someone has finally written an...

Anyone know of a good MPEG2 editor?

You can't load/save MPEG-2 with VirtualDub, and although you can load MPEG-2 in VirtualDubMod, you can't save it. Must be a licensing thing... TMPGEnc Plus and TMPGEnc MPEG Editor can do MPEG-2 cuts.

You can't. I tried it too. Winamp is just not unicode friendly. For the multi-language thing to work, you need to convert the tags to ID3v2 unicode - switch Windows settings to Korean, convert your Korean music's tags to unicode with something like ID3-TagIt, etc. Then you need a player like...

Based on Kasper's description of Azureus, basically, if you don't need: _individual_ adjustment of _download_ speed the built-in tracker to run the same client in your Linux, Windows, etc. You can also do the same with the smaller BitComet.

Best BitTorrent software?

I've been trying out BitComet... It seems to be one of the leanest clients around. It a native x86 program, and not interpreted like Java (Azureus) or Python (Python is, right?) (ABC, G3, BitTornado, etc.). Memory usage on mine is around 15MB + disk cache (changable).

If you just want to adjust it while you watch, Media Player Classic (not Microsoft) will allow you to do that. The filters ffdshow, Matrix Mixer, AC3Filter can also do it. All of these are at sourceforge.com.

To clarify... MOD(X,Y) returns "the remainder of X divided by Y." It's not a logical true/false function. Although NOT() works, it's because it's the same as "=FALSE" and FALSE is the same as 0.
