Am I correct in reading that this patch (assuming it will be re-released) improves SB performance? Only hyperthreaded chips or will my bf3-bottlenecked 2500k see a benefit?
Can anyone theorize how the 7950 and 7970 will compete with 2 x 6870 in CFX? Sick of Crossfire bugs and incompatibility and itching to go back to a single card solution.
64 player servers on BF3 max out my 2500k @ 4.4 GHz. Each of my 6870's only run at about 80%. So with sufficiently powerful GPUs you can definitely peg SB CPUs even with today's games.
So I've determined that two 6870's at stock are enough to bottleneck my 2500K @ 4.4GHz on full 64 player maps. My CPU is loaded to 95-100% while each GPU is sitting at only around 75%. At low settings and 1080P this translates to between 90 and 150 fps, but mostly sitting around 100. It...
I have an i5-2500K @ 4.4 and 2 XFX 6870's in crossfire. On big 64 player maps I average maybe 100 fps on medium-high custom settings.
wtf @ the graph here though:

34% CPU usage? Mine is pegging all four cores at...
Was really hoping BD could shake things up, but oh well.
Bought a 2500k for a song at Microcenter. Coming from a Q6600 I expect to see a huge advancement in games.
I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to get a 2nd 6870..
I just upgraded to a 2500k, but I'm hearing all kinds of worrying information about microstuttering. On top of that, I'll be stuck with 1 gig of VRAM for a while as I don't intend on getting another single card solution for two years...
I have a 6870 but I can tell you my Core 2 Quad (Q6600) was definitely bottlenecking my performance, at least while playing 64 player Caspian Border, where I often dipped to 20-25fps (unplayable imo). 32 player Operation Metro was completely fine, however.
I have a Q6600 @ 3.2, along with an HD6870. I upgraded to the 6870 from an 8800GT and thought my fps in Bad Company 2 would skyrocket, but the increase was modest and fairly disappointing. What did happen was my CPU usage went from around 50% in-game to much closer to 100%, which leads me...
Quick question since I've yet to do any overclocking in the turbo boost era. Is that 4.5ghz you mention your full-time speed with turbo disabled? Or the max single-core turbo? Or the max four-core turbo?
TIA.
