I used the Win 98 boot disk but it never prompted me to boot off cd? Maybe there is something wrong with disk? I'll try another.
Would it matter that it's a burned copy of 98SE (it's an upgrade). I have the original 95 but the last time I did this I only needed it for...
I'm planning on reinstalling Windows 98SE. I already erased the old partition and created a new one. DO I need to install a generic driver to get my CD-Rom drive D: to work? Is there anythintg else I would need?
Oh and the command to start the install is Install?

i have about six jacks on the sound card. Five of them( no color) produce no sound the other one is YELLOW - provides sound but alot of feedback noise.

I disabled the onboard legacy also. I also had the sounblaster disabled and everything works fine.
When you disable the onboard legacy, no changes can be made to the items below, does this mean they are disabled?? or are they locked in?? As for the MPU401 I don't know how that was set I mine...
Forouza1, when you flashed is there a way to save your old BIOS in case I screw up or something and if there is how would I reinstall it.

OK I downloaded V2.4 and the special OC Bios also. The special BIOS version doesn't contain the autoexec file but V2.4 does. When I make my bootable floopy can I use the autoexec file from V2.4 with the other files that came with the special BIOS. Or do I not need it?
Mine has the same name on it also. Both boards are probably one in the same except for the northbridge. I don't believe there are different versions, I remember reading about different weeks of production though. I could be wrong.
